DO NOT GO HERE-THEY DON'T HAVE EQUIPMENT OR SKILLS TO DIAGNOSE YOUR VEHICLE-CHEAP OWNER, HACK SHOP!!
Took a 92 Buick Lesabre here to have them diagnose the vehicle since I didn't have time and was leaving town the next day and a friend was going to be driving this for a few months while I was out of the cities. They said I have a crankshaft sensor code set and the sensor looked beat up, I didn't want to let them repair it but I didn't have a choice so let them replace the sensor which is behind the Harmonic Balancer and needs a special tool that they said they had. THEY DID NOT HAVE THIS TOOL AND GUESSED because the car intermittently stalled for the new few months she drove it around. They installed the sensor and told me to come get the vehicle, I drove away and as soon as I got 8 miles, the check engine light came on. Told the person who was driving it too take it too O'Reillys the next day and scan the code. THE CODE WAS NOW A CAM SENSOR CODE. She drove the car because it didn't stall but once and restarted. When I got back to town, I brought it back to them again for DIAGNOSIS BUT THE MANAGER TOLD ME THEY DIDNT HAVE ANYONE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. For the heck of it, I replaced the Cam Sensor and had the light cleared out and it came right back...HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED. It went from Crank Sensor to Cam Sensor because the people who did the testing damaged the terminals or the computer on that circuit and this set the code. The car has never had any issues until it came to this mismanaged shop. THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE OR THEY WOULD HAVE SAID THERE WERE TWO CODES WHEN THEY SCANNED IT.WHILE TALKING WITH THE MANAGER, he told me they just don't have the right equipment or experience to diagnose this 'older vehicle'. Its a 92 WITH TECH 1 COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THIS-YIKES. I have called over four times and left the car here twice and nothing has been done with it and the MANAGER SAYS THIS IS A NEW PROBLEM AND THEY WON'T WARRANTY THIS AND I NEED TO PAY FOR TWO HOURS OF INSPECTION TIME TO TRACK THIS DOWN....People if they had the proper scanner and hired a trained Auto Technician, they could see how many times the key was cycled and the engine started to find out this code started after they touched the vehicle. Now the light stays on and the car fumbles in the morning and if it breaks down....im screwed because of their improper repair procedures they won't stand behind. I have done some talking to local part stores and a few shops in the area who have said they often get a vehicle from this shop if they cant fix the problem. THIS MANAGER TOLD ME THEY OFTEN TAKE CARS TO THEIR COON RAPIDS STORE which has the equipment.Do your research people before you hire all these big corporate stores. This is December of 2014. My issue started back few months ago and trying to leave the car there for a day or two if they need to find the problem they caused but manager keeps saying there is nothing more they can do. TIME TO CALL KSTP 5 OR KARE 11.
Un-needed and undone repairs
If I could do zero starts I would have. I took my car in for oil change and alignment. They changed the oil but didn't do the usual lube with it. The owner told me he couldn't complete an alignment because I had a bad tie rod, he gave me an estimate of $267 to repair it. I decided to take it to my regular mechanic who told me that they didn't do the lube and couldn't find a bad tie rod. Watch yourself- the owner professed how honest he was when he showed me the estimate.
